About Us

Dan Crumpton was born in Claxton, GA in 1933. After graduating from University of Georgia School of Forestry in 1957 he began practicing forestry and surveying in Emanuel County, Georgia, for Gair Woodlands Corporation, under the supervision of H. G. “Red” Harris (Syracuse University) and H. M. “Harrison” Brown (Purdue University). He moved his family to his beloved Warren County in 1958, and entered into private practice in 1965. Since then he has worked with his partner, T. Larry Rachels, RLS, in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida.

The year 2008 marked the beginning of 43 years together for Forest & Land Services, Inc. of Warrenton, GA 30828.

For the past 26 years, Dan has been District Supervisor for Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District. He is a steward of tree farms and has a passion for the preservation of cemeteries, land, streams, forests, and ponds. He has supervised the planting of over ten million pine seedlings. He was named Warren County Citizen of Year in 1982 and 2001 by Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and received the Daughters of the American Revolution Community Service Award in 2002.

Over the years many old plats have been reviewed and collected. It seemed a shame for these precious our records to be buried in files, beyond the eyes of those who would appreciate and use them. New technology has enabled us to scan these gems, and after abstracting vital data, we are making an effort to get these to the countless researchers for old Georgia land records. Our mission is to provide as many old plats for review as possible.
